The Switch

Discuss the new forums and how much you hate them here.

The old forums are accessible here, though I disabled posting.

How about an additional ‘home’ button at the bottom of the page?

Okay, there is now a pager at the top of thread pages too.

To do when I get back from vacation if not sooner: Get edit link into the user box thing on top thread posts; add some quick links at the bottom of threads.

Oh, yeah, that feels much better. Thanks!

There should be a way to select the last page in a thread even if there are no new posts there. Also, we should be able to go back to the main page of the forum without having to scroll all the way up to the top of the page; there should be a link for the home page at the top and the bottom of any thread.

Appeasement strategy complete!

All right, I’m sick of this ugly theme. Someone go find/make me another one. Seriously. I try to do it, but I’m not an artist and it just ends up full of phail.

I don’t know if this is anything to be concerned about but every time I open a thread this message appears in a cute pink box at the top:

user warning: Got error 28 from storage engine query: SELECT t.* FROM term_node r INNER JOIN term_data t ON r.tid = t.tid INNER JOIN vocabulary v ON t.vid = v.vid WHERE r.vid = 9 ORDER BY v.weight, t.weight, t.name in /home/albright/public_html/raygunrobot/modules/taxonomy/taxonomy.module on line 618.

What do I win?

Yeah, I was seeing that earlier too, but it seems to have gone away. I guess it was just temporary weirdness with the web host’s database server.

There was some downtime for a few hours today. I’m not sure the exact reason, though I suspect it had something to do with a nameserver somewhere. Interestingly, though anre.org and anre.net didn’t work, raygunrobot.com and some other domains continued to work just fine, despite the fact that they should all be on the same server(s).

raygunrobot.com didn’t work. I tested it, when I found anre.org down.

Worked for me… Hmm. Weird.

It seems that I am no longer able to edit my account, such as it is. I want to change my sig but when I go to ‘My account’ all I get is something that tells me how long ago I registered and shows my avatar - that’s it, no further info or links.

Also, I am rather disappointed that no one has pointed out that ‘Guinness’ is misspelled in my avatar. =0D

Ack! You’re right! The edit tab is missing.

Until I fix it, just put “/edit” at the end of the address for your account info. So: http://anre.org/user/4/edit

I can log out and but the main AnRe screen still shows the log out option. I am for all purposes logged out (can’t post, etc.) but if I try to log out again it gives me an access denied page.

Edit: What the hell, now the problem is gone. Nevermind.

OHS NAP

MySQL it not known for its quality; merely for its ubiquitousness. Just like Windows.

I ran a repair operation on the table and it seems to have fixed things.
