Music You are Currently Playing to Death
Has anyone heard Fleet Foxes? shitgoddamn. They’ve got this really awesome mountain man meets neil young meets baroque pop thing going on that takes me to a really happy place. They would fit in crica 1968 so well.
also, Deerhunter (a band extremely inspired by Sonic Youth and Sonic Youth) and Department of Eagles (sample based soul music done by new york hipsters) put out two of the most unique records of the decade.

Thanks for the suggestions, Tehkiba. I’ve been needing some new music. I’m checking them out now.
There is very little crap left to play out of my Watermelon Slim cds.
DJ Earworm has once again mixed together the year’s 25 biggest pop songs to form the cacophony that is the United State of Pop.
You may remember me talking about Fatblueman, a group from my former home-away-from-home Nagoya, Japan. Their album “Back to Winnipeg” was easily one of my favorite discs of 2008. But apparently they’ve decided they have more to gain by giving their album away as a free download, so that’s what they’re doing. I highly suggest you give it a download. At least give “Which Road Takes Me Home” or “Mary Jane” a listen - though it’s kind of hard to pick a “best song” from an album like this. And if you like it enough, why not pay for it anyway?
ZOMJ DOWNLOAD THIS (it’s free for now)
At least download “Train Across Ukraine,” then maybe “Secrets/You’re Always Watching” if you’re looking for something more alt-pop-ish. The last song has a bit of NSFW language.
New interview with the pillows. Looks like they’re going to be touring at least the west coast this year.
