Is that for real? There doesn’t seem to be any arrow pointing toward health care providers indicating they would get any sort of financial restitution… Just “Cultural & Linguistic Competence Training,” which indeed made me laugh, because when I need heart surgery I want to be damn sure that my surgeon is aware of the grievances of native Taiwanese in the years following its occupancy by Han Chinese led by Chaing Kai-shek.

Yes, it’s real enough. Click the chart and it takes you to the Congress critter’s website who hosts the thing. It’s very small section of a much, much larger chart that indicates which government agency you should contact if you are unfortunate enough to have to deal with the government for any reason. Nevertheless, you can plainly see how this system will work to bring health care costs under control (of the government).

There isn’t any cash flowing to the health care providers because they are at the bottom of the food chain - there won’t be any money left at that level.

I have to take “Cultural Competence Training” every year for my job. You have the picture. It’s a one day sacrifice to the gods of training seminars where we all get together and demonstrate that we have common sense. This annual exorcise in pointlessness is mandated by law for various professions. It’s main purpose is to provide jobs for social science majors.

GrinfilledCelt:
What gets me is that anyone is surprised by any of this.

For those of you who don’t get it, look at the results without voting.

Congress pwns Acorn

Here’s the videos which started it all. They’re so ridiculous that I can’t help but wonder if there’s some shenanigans there, as much as I agree with what they led to.

Gee. Do you think that they can get by with just their funding from the DNC?

Kiddy-diddler Polanski arrested by Swiss authorities

I’m kind of surprised. Aren’t the Swiss supposed to be all neutral and stuff? What can they do that the French couldn’t to get this galactic asshat finally behind bars?

France wouldn’t extradite him because he is French by birth and because they’re French. Swiss neutrality doesn’t extend to criminals.

Just read about the shooting at Fort Hood earlier today.

How sad is it that nobody on that base, a base of ostensibly the most powerful military on the planet, nobody had a gun except the bad guy? How come a civilian cop had to come and stop that guy?

Depressing on so many levels. At least that guy didn’t get to become a martyr, at least not yet (assuming this was religiously instigated).

Medical Marijuana Cafe Opens in Portland, Or. Nothing surprising here, really. What bugs me the most about this one is the typical unabashed liberal smugness with which the article is written. Don’t read it aloud to anyone. The words leave an especially foul taste in your mouth.

Houston Chronicle editorial asserts “As a crucial climate change conference nears, more evidence of a warming globe.” Readers having none of it. Short article but the comments are the story.

Lengthy, tragic article from the WSJ: The Gambler Who Blew $127 Million

So much damn money.

A white lesbian Democrat and a black male Democrat are facing off for Houston’s mayorial… uh… -ship, causing lots of noise from the usual suspects and ensuring the best person won’t necessarily get the job because too many people will be voting out of fear and/or guilt. In related news, a transsexual paraplegic leper and a kicked puppy are facing off for the controller office.

Climategate distracts at Copenhagen

And in Copenhagen Tuesday, the World Meteorological Organization and the British Meteorological Office teamed up on offense, releasing new figures showing that the current decade is the warmest on record.

To counter claims that our reports were faulty or outright fraudulent, we shall release another report.

“People do come up and say, ‘I see so many different things in the media,’” Watt said. He blamed the press for creating a “fake equivalence” between climate change believers and climate change skeptics.

Yes, there’s no equivalence - AGW believers are clearly far superior.

“I think this is a completely annoying distraction,” added Kim Carstensen, leader of the World Wildlife Fund’s Global Climate Initiative. “It’s very clear that this has been done to discredit climate research. … It’s a bluff. There’s nothing in it; it’s just a huge distraction.”

“Maybe if I ignore it, it will go away!”

My favorite quote to come out of the whole Climategate thing is, “Who are the deniers now?” It’s most useful. Unfortunately, I neglected to note the source.

I heard a radio ad for Meg Whitman today. She’s the former CEO of eBay, and she’s running for California governor in 2010 (Arnie will be termed out). She’s a relatively liberal Republican, so she might have a chance.

The campaigning has begun… again.

I wouldn’t vote for her and I think that a lot of Packs are catching up to me. Electing a RINO is still a victory for the Donks. Just maybe the RNC will learn this year that Republicans are sick of voting for the Democrat Light Party. When you choose the lesser of evil you end up with evil.

EDIT: Or maybe not…

Stupid, idiot MFCSLSOBs. Do they really have to work so hard at getting people killed? “Let’s draw even more attention to our mindless gun phobia, so that the violent criminals out there will think twice before risking being slapped with a violation of the student-conduct policy.”

Edited your link to point to the first page of the article. Yup, pretty fucktardery. But I bet it would be pretty funny if you got a few people together to go to a student council meeting or something, and then halfway through you all pull Nerf guns out of your backpacks and shout “Allah ackbar!” and start spraying the crowd with foam darts and ping-pong balls. Hopefully the campus police don’t shoot you.

Balloon Parents sentenced

Richard Heene was sentenced to 90 days in jail, including 60 days of work release that will let him pursue his job as a construction contractor while serving his time. His wife, Mayumi, was sentenced to 20 days in jail.

Just caught up on the news about the latest Nigerian terrorist hijinx. Observations:

Why is it such a tragedy that Bush kept reading a book to grade schools a few minutes after he was first notified of 9/11, but Obama still being in Hawaii and playing golf and shit three days later is perfectly fine?

Maybe it’s morose to speculate like this, but if the attack had been successful, do you think there would have been a huge surge to Obama’s popularity vis a vis Bush after 9/11? Somehow, I don’t see it.

Napolitano’s comments that “the system worked:” Moron, the only thing that worked here was a particular Flying Dutchman with balls the size of a dumpster.

The difference is that Bush did something effective when he got out of that chair. Obama would have gone to them and bowed. Obama gets away with it solely because he he is a Democrat.

That and the fact that the guy’s bomb failed to ignite.

Albright, can you delete/edit the post above mine so that no one clicks the links? Trojans ahoy.

John Edwards. Jeez, it’s like these politicians never learned how to masturbate. Can you imagine the circus we’d be in right now if he had actually won the presidency? Is monogamy really that hard?

For those dick wads in DC? Yes, yes it is. I don’t understand why this is any kind of a big deal. A. It doesn’t matter. B. Everyone knew he was a lying sleezebag the first time around. Now everyone is all upset because he is a lying sleezebag. Why?

I have seen this sort of thing too many times, and every time it happens I am perplexed by the public reaction. A politician comes along and says, “Vote for me! I’m a dick!” He wins the election and turns out to be a dick and everyone is all upset about that fact.

The first time I noticed this was with Nixon. The other day I saw a video complaining that we got “change we didn’t expect” out of Obama. The only people who could say that are the ones who were too busy gushing about what a marvelous speaker he was to hear what he was saying.
